We do our best to give you great talks, inspiring spaces, and tasty coffee and breakfast every month, but the best part of CreativeMornings is the people. So we’re showcasing a few of the faces of our fabulous volunteers!

Meet Madara

I call myself a creative freelancer. I am a coffee and pancake lover and still fascinated by the TV show Friends. My hobby and passion is creating collages. I’m inspired by beautiful designs, color combinations, textures, music and patterns. My style is modern, colorful, clean, feminine and also fashion-related.

What do you love about Oslo? I am from Latvia and living there I was close to nature. The sea and forests are places that help restore my energy, so I am very happy that near Oslo there are many different opportunities to enjoy nature. I appreciate oslo’s diversity of cultures, people, food, art, architecture, and design.

What do you enjoy most about CreativeMornings?  I really enjoy the magic of attending early morning events. I am inspired by everyone’s energy filling the room. As a volunteer, I enjoy preparing events, welcoming visitors, and the opportunity to be inspired by the community. I really like the openness, joy, and support that is characteristic of our team.

What are a few of your favorite themes/talks/speakers we’ve had here in Oslo? Topics and guests I would like to highlight are Barbora Kurcova (Wonder), Ilya C. Hendel (Justice), Jimmy Westerheim (Lost) and Nikol Mard (Invest). Each theme and guest has given me their added value and I feel inspired after each event.

What’s the best or worst advice you’ve ever been given? Take your mistakes as lessons.

How do you take your coffee? I start my day with a strong cappuccino

What are 3 things you do in your daily routine to feel productive, active, and grounded? I go for early walks in the morning, do a little workout session and make a to-do list for the day.

Share your creativity! What are you working on these days? I am working on creating new collages. The first step is to create a mood board and gather materials… magazines with a lot of images, moods, vibes, and texts are where I find my inspiration for my projects.
