Meet our BLOSSOM illustrator: Edwin Morales
Each month, CreativeMornings has a different theme for the talks given at our local chapter events around the world. It is our tradition to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for each monthly theme.
Our theme for September is BLOSSOM.It was chosen by our Pereira chapter in Colombia, illustrated by Edwin Morales, and is presented by Adobe.
Edwin Morales Perdomo is a Colombian multidisciplinary visual artist specializing in mural and digital painting. He is also a university teacher and researcher. His work celebrates Colombian landscapes, wildlife, flora, and portraiture, blending cultural essence with artistic innovation.
Edwin shared the following reflection on his illustration for this monthâs theme:
The illustration brings the word âblossomâ to life in bold, striking 3D, as if it were bursting forth with living energy. Around it, vibrant heliconias, delicate orchids, majestic guayacĂĄn trees, frailejones and the iconic wax palm unfurlâbotanical treasures of the breathtaking Cocora Valley in Salento, QuindĂo, the very place that inspired this piece. These tropical, emblematic plants weave together in an exuberant dance of colors and textures, creating a scene brimming with vitality and natural splendor. The union of the word âblossomâ with the native flora of the Cocora Valley evokes growth, resilience, renewal, and the wild, flourishing beauty of nature in this magical corner of Colombia.
