Meet our CYCLE illustrator: Isabell Meister
Our theme for December is CYCLE. It was chosen by our Freiburg chapter in Germany and illustrated by Isabell Meister.
Isabell Meister is an illustrator and animator based in Germany. She trained as a graphic designer and studied “time-based media” in Mainz. During her studies, she concentrated primarily on 2D animation and then spent many years creating explanatory films as a freelancer. A few years ago, her passion for abstract drawing was awakened and since then she has worked as an illustrator for Lidl International and film agencies, for example. She dreams of seeing her illustrations printed in magazines and newspapers.
Isabell also shared her artist statement: Emotions, life circumstances, good and bad should not be gender-specific - everything is there for everyone. That’s why I design the characters in my illustrations androgynously, so that everyone can see themselves in them. I want to contribute to shifting the boundaries of normality.
You can see more of Isabell’s work on her site and follow her on Instagram @isabellmeisterillustration.
