Meet our MENTOR illustrator: Molly Hankinson
Each month, CreativeMornings has a different theme for the talks given at our local chapter events around the world. It is our tradition to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for each monthly theme.
Our theme for July is MENTOR. It was chosen by our Glasgow chapter in Country/State and illustrated by Molly Hankinson, and is presented by Adobe.
Molly Hankinson is a visual artist from London, currently based in Glasgow. Her work interrogates and celebrates ‘safe spaces and the people who occupy them’, weaving narratives of collective gendered experiences, and shared empathy. Incorporating the aesthetics of bright and considered colour placement with use of continuous line, Molly is particularly interested in how her art can evoke a feeling, offer comfort, and serve as sites of power.
She works across a broad range of artistic practices, from large-scale mural work, to painting, printmaking, and hand-drawn and digital illustration. Selected clients include The Body Shop, Lucozade, Sky Arts, Fritz Kola, the SFA and FA, and Coppafeel.
