Meet our NOMAD illustrator: Oyuna Bold

Each month, CreativeMornings has a different theme for the talks given at our local chapter events around the world. It is our tradition to work with an artist in our community to create an illustration for each monthly theme.

Our theme for August is NOMAD. It was chosen by our Ulaanbaatar chapter in Mongolia and illustrated by Oyuna Bold.

Oyuna is an illustrator from Mongolia, specializing in children’s book illustration. Her work is rooted in a deep love for storytelling, whimsy, and color. Drawing inspiration from the everyday magic and the natural world around her, Oyuna hopes to connect with world and explore it through her illustrations.

Oyuna shared the following reflection on her illustration for this month’s theme: Mongolia has a strong nomadic culture, so finding inspiration came naturally. In rural areas, people move from place to place in search of green pastures, packing everything they own onto camels and traveling to their next destination. This way of life sparked an idea—to combine the traditional nomad with the modern digital nomad.
