Hello! I’m Molly Wiley, the new host for the CreativeMornings Sacramento chapter.

Our chapter is coming back to life, and my volunteer team and I will be making these ideas reality and bringing the community together in Sacramento.

A bit about me

Born and raised in Sacramento, if you had asked me in high school if I would move back here with my future children, the answer probably would have been no. But alas, I am *home* after spending the last 10 glorious years in Austin, TX.

I have a design background and pursued graphic design in ATX for about 6 months until I was recruited into recruiting. I am currently the Director of Creative Recruiting for M+P, a creative staffing agency that I’ve had the pleasure of working at for the last 9+ years.

I love being outside, dancing with my daughter, sipping on a spicy margarita, and going out to eat.

A bit about the team

Every CreativeMornings event is free and run by a team of volunteers.

As we revitalize the Sacramento chapter, I will be actively looking for a full volunteer team! Please reach out if you’re interested in being a part of it.

My vision for CreativeMornings/Sacramento

I’ve heard amazing things about the previous CreativeMornings in Sacramento. I know the presence dipped after 2020, but I’m so excited to bring it back to life and create a place for the community to come together. I envision bagels, coffee, and fun humans on an early Friday morning to mingle and learn from one another.

How to participate

Want to be the first to know about our first event? Sign up for the CreativeMornings/Sacramento newsletter. If you’re interested in partnering or volunteering, please email sacramento@creativemornings.com. Stay tuned for details and I hope to give you a high five at our launch event!

We’re looking for a new host in Sacramento!

In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg, also known as Swissmiss, started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.

Today, attendees gather in 224 cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. We call ourselves an engine of generosity and live by our manifesto

CreativeMornings Sacramento’s previous host has since stepped down so we are now looking for a replacement. Could this be you?

If you are:

- passionate about your local creative community in Sacramento
- psyched to lead a small volunteer team to put your own spin on CreativeMornings
- excited to participate in the global conversation among our chapters
- one to use the words humble, driven, resourceful, generous and connected to describe yourself

We’d love to hear from you! If interested, complete our standard New Chapter Application and we’ll be in touch.

There will be follow up interviews for the top candidates.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Aside from inspirational talks and yummy breakfast, we know that meeting new people and face-to-face connections is half the reason you come to Creative Mornings, and we didn’t want to leave you hanging this month. We’re going to be trying virtual “coffee dates.” If you’re interested in being matched with someone else in our community, fill out the form in our bio and we will match you with someone to schedule a FaceTime/Zoom/Google Hangout/Etc chat. ☕️✨ — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2we35Xj

With heavy hearts, we have decided to postpone March’s Creative Mornings event due to the increasing risk of person-to-person contraction of Covid-19 (coronavirus). In order to be in compliance with Sacramento County Department of Public Health’s official guidelines, we would have to reduce the number of attendees by at least half, which isn’t fair to our speaker or to everyone who wants to hear her talk.
.

We did not take this decision lightly, and as much as we want to bring you an inspiring morning filled with hugs & high fives—especially amid the stress, fear, and inconveniences you might be experiencing right now—the safety and health of our CM community as well as the Sacramento community at large is more important. .
🍩 What now?
We were excited to bring Kari Miskit (@kgmiskit) to talk to you about @visitsacramento and creating an authentic career path, and we know you were excited to hear it. Don’t worry—we will be rescheduling her for another month this year. (We’ll let you know when we have more details.) .
. 🍩 What about 30 Second Pitch?
Anyone who submitted this month will have priority for our next event. That said, we know some pitches are time sensitive, and we have a solution for that. We will reach out to you with options over e-mail. .
🍩 What else?
We know that meeting new people and face-to-face connections is half the reason you come to these events, which is why we decided against doing a virtual talk. However, we didn’t want to leave you hanging this month. We’re going to be trying virtual “coffee dates” this month. If you’re interested, fill out the form in our bio and we will match you with someone else to schedule a FaceTime/Zoom/Google Hangout/Etc chat.
.

Please stay safe, wash your hands (for 20 seconds!), and practice social distancing. If not for yourself, but for the most vulnerable among us. We’re stronger together. 💛 — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3cXcyCT
