We proudly present our speaker for this months SHOCK theme, social designer Alix Bizet and her project Hair Matter(s). Alix will talk at CreativeMornings/Utrecht at Friday 23th of October.

After studying Fine Arts/Curation for three years at La Sorbonnes in Paris, Alix Bizet decided to apply the theories she learnt to a more 3D based field through studying Product Design at Central Saint Martins.

She graduated from the Master Social Design in the Design Academy in Eindhoven in June 2015.
Her work is a mix of interest in the theory, philosophy and psychology of human sciences coupled with a real passion for human behaviors the environment we live in.

She has a fascination for materials and experimenting through existing techniques help her to open the process to new possibilities and with unusual mediums in order to challenge the world of objects we live in and the taboos which remains.

Tamed, shaved, dyed or straighten, hair is a material that has been long used by humans to construct a portrait. Human hair is shaped to be a social indicator between individuals to communicate their status and cultural affiliations. and it has been steadily standardized over the decades by the beauty industry, media, and social conventions.

Hair Matter(s) is a platform for understanding hair as a medium to talk about diversity of individuals and how it is essential to address the subject of democracy and an equality of all hairs in society.

As disturbing using human hair can be, shocking could be a way to open discussion and debate on our bio waste future but also about our society.

CreativeMornings is all heart. We have an unwavering passion for face-to-face connections. Each and every day, our global community challenges us to change our perspectives and inspires us to be better humans.

This month’s events are presented in partnership withShutterstock. The theme was chosen by our Phoenix chapter and illustrated byScott Biersack, an illustrator & designer who once spent a year writing on a public chalkboard to thank the community who supported his family when they needed it most.

Another awesome speaker this month! We have Kirsten Jassies - blogcoach & content strategist, to talk about July’s theme - Collaborate! Same place, same time! July 31, 8:30 @IndeRuimte. Stay tuned for ticket info!

Hallo Morning People,

Ontwerpwedstrijden - ja of nee?
