From Hong Kong to Paris to New Zealand: Art duo Batten and Kamp explore how their nomadic lifestyle shapes their creative practice, relationships, and definition of home through conceptual furniture and sculpture.

New Zealand-born artists Alexandra Batten and Daniel Kamp share intimate insights into their nomadic journey across three continents. Through their acclaimed conceptual furniture and sculptural works, they discuss how constant movement between Hong Kong, Paris, and their homeland has influenced their artistic evolution, collaborative process, and understanding of belonging. Their conversation reveals how impermanence has become both a challenge and a catalyst for their internationally recognized designs, from their Steel and Stone series to their recent Echo exhibition at Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
