Aradhana Nagpal on the many opportunities that followed opening her craft & design store Dhoop
In collaboration with Godrej Design Lab
About the speaker
Aradhana Nagpal began her journey in the craft sector in 2000 and went on to establish the iconic store Dhoop in 2003. Conceived as a thoughtfully curated space, Dhoop became a sanctuary for artisans and handmade crafts from across India. Over the years, it has evolved into a consulting and curatorial agency, working closely with artisans, CSR initiatives, and artisanal brands.
Her curatorial work includes setting up the prestigious JSW Craft Prize and collaborating with Dastkari Haat Samiti to curate and document Indian crafts for Google Arts & Culture.
With over two decades of experience in the craft and retail space, Aradhana is a strong advocate for community-building and conscious consumption. She is deeply committed to educating audiences about mindful choices and sustainability. Her latest initiative, Asivero, focuses on community engagement through curated outreach programs and participatory experiences.
Aradhana has a natural flair for culture and storytelling. Believing that learning never stops—and inspired by her nine-year-old—she is increasingly focused on education as a tool for cultural preservation.
