Photographer Yoppy Pieter tells the story of his journey and finding through the making of his photography project titled “Saujana Sumpu”
Yoppy’s photographs portray Sumpu, a forsaken village located at the end of Lake Singkarak in west Sumatra, Indonesia. Since decades ago, their people have migrated and became a part of Indonesia’s urban population. Through his work, Yoppy tells the story of the slow death of Minangkabau’s cultural heritage.
