About the speaker
Ber-Henda Williams lives her life in color. Williams is bilingual femolutionary, who lives according to her name’s meaning: “The Bear Hearted Protector” of multiculturalism, art and womanhood. She is the founder of The Power of Girlhood, a teen mentoring program for girls. She has served on many community panels and organized numerous cultural and community engagement events, such as Race 2 Equity for Michigan Roundtable for diversity, IBM and Power the Youth. Williams penned a book of bilingual poetry and essays titled Memoirs of the Human Experience: And Everything In Between, Vol. 1, which is a testimony of her life experiences. She most recently presented at SXSW 2016 as a featured presenter. Williams is also an alumni for The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers, The Vagina Monologues, and Listen to Your Mother.
