About the speaker

For April's event, we are exploring the global theme 'crossroads' while intentionally deviating a little from our usual speaker/ audience format to explore a more participatory format. As part of CreativeMornings special series 'Thriving Through Change' we plan to explore ways that we can creatively manage change with a conversation between CMVan alumnus Carson Ting, our chapter lead, Mark Busse, and YOU, Vancouver's creative community, with a focus on how to boldly navigate life and career changes, disruptive technologies like AI, and other related topics.

Carson Ting is an artist and the founder of Billion Buns, a brand known for its vibrant and whimsical style. He also leads Chairman Ting, an award-winning art and design studio that has collaborated with global brands such as Nike, Microsoft, Starbucks, OFF-WHITE, NBA, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, adidas Originals, and Snoop Dogg’s 19 Crimes wine. His work blends fluid, organic linework with playful character-based shapes, creating a distinct and recognizable style. He began his career as an advertising art director in Toronto, contributing to award-winning campaigns for brands like Nike Jordan, Sony, Lexus, and Science World. Beyond commercial projects, Ting is expanding into fine arts to deepen and enrich his personal body of work. He is also committed to mentoring emerging artists, advocating for the creative community, and sharing his expertise. He serves on Capilano University’s Advisory Committee and teaches part-time, focusing on mural illustration and art direction.
