About the speaker
CHOKE is a self-taught artist, community leader, and wellness advocate whose work spans across the U.S. and internationally. Known for her deep connection to her ancestral lineage, she celebrates her Taíno and Mayan heritage, with her art being shown in global collections and widely recognized for its organic forms, cosmic symbology, and ancient-futuristic archetypes. Her work draws from the universal elements of nature and culture.
CHOKE practices Vipassana and Zen meditation, most recently in the high mountains of Thailand. She has spent countless hours learning from and meditating with Buddhist monks across Asia. Over the past 15 years, she has immersed herself in the world of tea and herbs, attending courses and forums, visiting tea farms, tribes, and sitting with elders and masters of the craft. This spiritual journey has shaped her approach to both life and art, where mindfulness, ritual, and radical self-care are woven into everything she does.
