Christine Cizmaș on PRIDE

When 15 she decided to join THESPIS, a students’ theatre company with tradition from Timișoara, where she spent 10 years of her life. Diogene Bihoi, founder of the company and her inspiration.
Did she perform? Quite a lot. So much that it was difficult for her to enter the acting school at 26, because she knew too much, according to some teachers. She did not fail. Finished the acting school, in German language in ™. 4 years, studied acting, performed at the German Theatre in ™ and founded her own theatre company, too. Had a job, too. Quality Manager at a company that manufactured wooden ice cream sticks.
Together with some of her theatre collegues from Thespis, who became her close friends, they founded AUĂLEU. On the 6th of May 2005. AUĂLEU celebrated 18 years of existence this year. UNITER decided to give a special prize this year to AUĂLEU: Resistance and Creativity in the independent theatre sector.
Christine accepted some prizes, others were denied. Since this private company, for the past 18 years, the actress performs weekly, sings, runs, administrates, cleans, organizes, plans, sells, does it all together with her friends in theatre. She jumps from creation to administration.
Parts? Plays? Many. Grand Hostel Timișoara, the last one.
Movies? Almost none.
This is why she was selected this year at TIFF 22. Her lucky number is 22. In the section 10 for MOVIE. Now she works on a movie, pure coincidence or not and very soon she will be part of the beautiful Creative Mornings community.
