What are Clubs?
CreativeMorning Clubs are community-led, hyper-local, intimate gatherings around something you love.
Clubs can be recurring or drop-in and can range from hobbies and hang-outs, to skill-building and anything in between.
📽️ Cinema Paradiso: Films of the Twentieth Century 🎞️
• – • Brooklyn, 11226
About this Club
🎥 🎬 🎞️ I want to celebrate and explore the rich history of cinema. Growing up immersed in the Golden Age of Hollywood, foreign films, and countless sub-genres, I developed a deep love of the storytellers of yesterday, feeling connected to all the artists involved in making these films.
Living now in an era where film is often reduced to mere “content,” many of its roots and cultural significance are being forgotten. This club will take us back to where it all began: examining cinema’s evolution, its impact, and why these works still resonate today.
This is a space where people approach films with curiosity and openness, embracing stories regardless of age, language, or format. Through both historical context and personal perspective, we will rediscover the artistry that shaped film as we know it.
🎥 Each meeting will start with a brief history of the film, it’s historical and cultural significance, some short bios about the key players involved, and then ask that participants take notes on things that stood out to them about about the films.
💭 After each film screening we’ll discuss the films we see, and what we took away from those viewings.
🍿 If you’re a snack fan, and you’d like to contribute, please bring a snack to share with your fellow Club goers. Nothing fancy. Just something that delights you. That’s it. See you there!
ABOUT YOUR HOST
I am a visual artist, a devoted husband, a connector of people, a lifelong cinephile, an absurd surrealist (or a surreal absurdist, I do not know), and, most importantly, a dogfather to my daughter, Samantha.
