Daren Wang

Daren Wang is Assistant Director of the Center for Public Scholarship and Engagement at Emory University, where he leads the development of the Ideas Festival and other initiatives connecting academic work with public audiences. A writer and experienced program builder, he was a founder of Decatur Book Festival and ran it for 12 years. He has produced public radio, launched one of the first audio literary magazines, and published the novel The Hidden Light of Northern Fires with St. Martin’s Press. He can rattle off random album catalog numbers, drank with Vonnegut, was the last person to interview James Dickey, and rode a 45-year-old bike from high in the Swiss Alps to Hoek Van Holland on the North Sea.
