How to exit the Groundhog Day of irresponsible and corrupt handling of the climate crisis?
Almost like an infinite cycle: in the hands of multinationals, corruption scandals follow one another, as if this way of operating were part of the normal course of business management. And this is often the case with the fossil fuel industry, whose corruption cases are fuelling one of the greatest emerging tragedies, that of the climate. From corrupting politicians to capital investment fraud, it all applies when it comes to getting more fossil energy out of the ground. How to get out of this vicious circle? Are the laws enough or should we take a more radical approach? We met for breakfast to talk about it with the climate activist David Hofmann.
