Devin Allen

Devin Allen is a photographer from West Baltimore whose work has found the spotlight as he covered the uprising and protests in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray and has continued to photograph the protests and the black lives matter movement. Most notably, he captured the profound and iconic image that was chosen as the latest cover of Time magazine. Utilizing social media as his platform, Allen's pictures captured the raw and fierce emotions of the community, who took the streets to express their frustrations over the killing of yet another black man at the hands of police. Allen is self-taught and began shooting in only 2013 and focused primarily on fashion and street photography. Allen is a Gordon Parks Foundation Fellow and also works with Under Armour.
