About the speaker
Eliza Redmann is a sculptural artist and architect based in Durham who founded her design studio, Folded Poetry, after her life was suddenly upended by disability in 2018. Her architectural-scale artwork uses geometry, light, color, and shadow to offer viewers a glimpse into altered perceptions associated with cognitive impairment.
Eliza also creates noise-reducing artwork designed to make spaces quieter and more accessible while bringing beauty into the places we live, work, and gather. Through Folded Poetry, she aims to create a more accessible world through design. Her work has been featured in Design Milk, Interior Design, and Durham Magazine.

There was something Switchyards wanted that didn’t exist in the world. Essentially, they like working and meeting in coffee shops, libraries, and hotel lobbies. But they wanted all the things they love best about each to be under one roof.
So, Switchyards made it. And they called it a neighborhood work club. They tuck these clubs deep into cities’ iconic neighborhoods—where people actually live and want to spend time. Historic. Walkable. Convenient.
