About the speaker

Matthew Haynes is the Founder and CEO of The Design Conference (TDC), one of Australia’s leading creative industry events, known for its audience-first approach and uncompromising editorial integrity.

Over the past 15 years, he has shaped TDC into a platform that prioritises substance over hype—bringing together designers, creatives, and industry leaders to engage with ideas that challenge, inform, and drive real-world impact. His work focuses on building meaningful connections between creativity and commercial outcomes, ensuring both attendees and partners gain lasting value.

Through a continued focus on content, partnerships, and technology, Matthew is expanding TDC beyond the stage into a global platform for the next generation of creative leaders.

Our global theme for April is Ember, and our speaker is Matthew Haynes. This month is the 10 year anniversary of CM BNE’s launch!

WHAT TO EXPECT: - 8:30am: Doors open! We’ll welcome you in, check your name off the list, invite you to grab a free coffee, a breakfast bite and fill out fun, thought-provoking name tag.

Arriving from 8:30am means you’ll be able to soak up the coffee, the brekky and the community of brilliant creatives - what CreativeMornings is all about!

  • 9:00am: Your host will jump on the mic + introduce this month’s speaker, who’ll share enlightening tales and fresh perspectives on this month’s theme! Coffee wraps up, so be sure to order one before 9am.
  • Q+A: After the talk, we’ll open up the floor for questions for our speaker! So ask awayyy!
  • 10:00am: Bye! You’ll leave fuelled with inspiration, connections and coffee!

THE VENUE: The ForeFront is in Hamilton, with plenty of free, close-by parking. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal and a 20-minute walk from the nearest bus stop. The venue has a ramp entrance and internal lift, and you can always contact your CM Host if you’d like to reserve front or ground-row accessible seating.

CreativeMornings is free to attend, open to all + run by volunteers who are passionate about connecting this city’s creative community!
