About the speaker

George Woods is the founder and primary instructor at the Monterey Song School, where he provides one-on-one and group instruction in all things music, production, and artistry. He has been a Professor of Songwriting at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts since 2018, and a touring performing musical artist since 2007.
George’s teaching philosophy is grounded in a very simple, yet profound foundational principle: You are the thing that makes your music valuable to the world. Your perspective, your voice, the life you have lived. These are the things Monterey Song School students learn how to harness, and honor when they advance their craft with the Monterey Song School.
The Fall session of Songcrafting 101 is coming up fast! Starting on September 30th, this 10 week course is designed to help you tap into your innate musicality and creativity, regardless of prior musical experience.
Additional details
This presentation is entitled “Human Harmony”. George will be taking the group through a series of short experiments and exercises to showcase the true unifying power of harmony in music, and the true musicality of being human. The presentation will be half experiential and half philosophy, and will hopefully leave the participants with a deeper connection to music, and one to another, then when they walked in the room. Just bring yourself, your voice, and your curiosity. We will see you at Wave Street.
