About the speaker
9 years ago CMDC was born out of a desire for a rhythm of gathering folks from all corners of our city’s creative landscape to be inspired together. 2 years ago, on February 28th at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture, we hosted what we didn’t know then would be our last in-person event before the pandemic would close the doors of all those theaters and auditoriums our community had come to know as home.
We’re so happy to announce that on the evening of Thursday, March 24th at 6:30pm, we’ll be joining with Cameo, The Roost, and Aslin Brewing to open those doors again - inviting you in. To celebrate not only our 9th birthday but also the start of longer warmer days, and hopefully a benchmarked end to two years of only knowing the warmth of this great community through a tired computer screen!
If this feels a bit last minute, that’s because it is. Our team, like all teams, is just finding our rhythm. Flexing old muscles and working to understand the new swing of things. But we didn’t want to let the month pass without marking it as an end of one and beginning of another chapter in our CMDC Folklore.
This won’t be a typical CM event. No speaker, no programming, just the face of friends old and new. Come wade back slowly into the pool with free food, drinks, and swag.
See you all at The Roost on Thursday!
