About the speaker

Hilda Andres is the Executive Director at Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, MO. Hilda brings more than 14 years of experience in art museums and nonprofit arts leadership, with a career focused on community engagement, education, and the arts. Before joining the Foundry Art Centre, she served as Director of Community Engagement and Education at the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she connected the museum with the broader community through innovative programming, outreach, fundraising, and strategic collaborations.

A passionate advocate for the arts, Hilda believes deeply in their power to enhance quality of life, strengthen communities, and drive economic development. Her leadership and impact were recognized in 2019 when she was named one of Terre Haute Living’s Women in Business.

Hilda’s previous roles include Education and Program Coordinator at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia, and Director of Development for the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art. She has led major initiatives in partnership with community arts leaders and the City of Terre Haute, including securing the Arts and Cultural District designation for Downtown Terre Haute through the Indiana Arts Commission.

She holds a Master’s degree in Leadership Development from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from the Indiana University Herron School of Art and Design. Hilda continues to be committed to advancing access to the arts and fostering meaningful cultural experiences for diverse audiences.
