Our vision is to foster the conditions for emergence — the emergence of new connections, ideas, art, and opportunities — for Louisville artists, creatives, their patrons, and really anyone who desires to be plugged into the creative pulse of the city, while developing a new business model that builds resilient support for artists and remains enticing to investors.
Grown-Up Storytime502 is a monthly storytelling event. Each month, writers and non-writers send their first-person short stories on a given theme. We then pair your story with one of our expert readers who will bring it to life for all to hear. Stories can reflect on any emotion as long as they are true to you and can be read aloud in 10-minutes or less. Readings take place the 3rd Wednesday of the month at West Sixth NuLu @7pm. A relaxed, fun evening with a community of friends. Free for all!

This January, we’re taking our community on a journey—one that connects empathy, heart, and mind through a uniquely immersive experience. We’re breaking tradition and hosting our first-ever evening event on Thursday, January 30th at 6:30 PM at MaybeItsFate.
Instead of our usual speaker format, this event will invite attendees to explore three distinct levels of immersive activation. Each level offers a different type of experience, designed to engage your senses and foster deep connection.
Level 1: Experience the art exhibitions at MaybeItsFate: Underworld Shadows in the Sun Tierra de Nadie
Level 2: Step into the world of storytelling through the theme Journey with Louisville’s own Grown Up Storytime that taps into the power of human connection and narrative.
Want to participate in Grown Up Storytime at this month’s event? Write and submit a story on the theme journey: Your “Journey” can mean so many personal things: A life-long journey towards a goal, a short-lived one that ended in despair, or maybe even that journey to the grocery store that resulted in something wild in the dairy aisle! We want to hear what “Journey” means to you!
Send us your first-person stories on “Journey” to grownupstorytime502@gmail.com. We can’t wait to hear!
Plus, create a communal vision board collage, led by Barrett Grider from Feign Zine.
Level 3: Clear your mind with a soothing guided meditation with Hillary Hoffman, designed to calm your thoughts and bring you to a place of reflection and peace.
Get your aura photographed by Ray’s aura portraits (please note that this activation will require payment to get yours!).
This immersive event will have limited participants and divided into groups. We’ll follow up with mingling and community. Small bites and drinks will be provided!
As an added bonus, Brad Vetter design will be giving away 35 posters created just for this CreativeMornings! Winners will be randomly selected.
Join us for an unforgettable night of art, connection, and mindfulness. Space is limited, so reserve your spot now!
