About the speaker

As a powerful voice for women throughout the State of Utah, outspoken feminist and CEO/Founder of The Wave, Joanna works with political leaders to advocate for women’s rights and the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. She sits on the Board of Directors for University of Utah’s Women’s Resource Center, Elmer’s Helpers and Utah Women Unite. Joanna has worn many hats throughout her career having been a Social Media Manager, Education Coordinator and Design Team Lead for an international arts company, event planner, personal banker and waitress. She is the Wave Founder and C.E.O and works full time helping all of Utah’s marginalized genders break barriers, shatter ceilings and achieve their dreams. Joanna is an avid quilter, enjoys hiking and pedicures, dislikes poorly written books and spends most of her free time with her four kind and smart children. She lives with her equal partner and spouse in Salt Lake City, Utah.
