About the speaker
Joda Thongnopnua is the Executive Director of the Metro Ideas Project, a non-profit policy research startup dedicated to bringing smart solutions to the tough challenges facing local governments. Previously, Joda led communications efforts at Lamp Post Group, a venture capital firm in Chattanooga working to build the infrastructure necessary to support a tech hub in the Southeast.
Prior to that, he worked with creatives and entrepreneurs at a number of boutique creative agencies on behalf of several global non-profits and commercial firms. He launched his career with the team that founded @BreakingNews, a Twitter account and news organization that was acquired by MSNBC in 2010 after amassing over 1.5 million followers. A millennial thinker and a first generation American, Thongnopnua is passionate about cities and what drives them.
