Understanding archives as a liminal space.

What we create, and what we collect, represents a thread between memory and forgetting, between the past and the future, between the individual and the collective. In this illustrated talk, Lara Wilson and Heather Dean, from Special Collections and University Archives (University of Victoria Libraries), will discuss the theme LIMINAL within the context of archives. The speakers will provide an overview of the Artists’ Archives at the University of Victoria, discuss archives as a liminal space, and lead a conversation around how artists and arts organizations can collaborate with cultural heritage institutions to curate collections documenting our shared humanity.
