Louis Cherry & Marsha Gordon take on Oakwood (Raleigh) neighborhood
Louis Cherry & Marsha Gordon show how change is good, even in historic neighborhoods.
About the speaker

Louis + Marsha have collaborated on a number of projects, all of which have pushed the boundaries of their creative and professional experiences. They set about building their modestly scaled, environmentally sustainable home in the Historic Oakwood neighborhood of Raleigh in 2013, which propelled them into the center of an unexpected controversy about historic preservation that was discussed in the pages of Vanity Fair and The New York Times. In February 2016 they mounted (with three other partners) an interactive multimedia and performance piece at Flanders Gallery, âPublic Displays." They are currently at work on a documentary, âRendered Small,â about an intriguing collection of American folk art buildings in Hillsborough, NC.
