Lourdes the Merry Virgin/Jonathan Busch is a local drag performer and artist with too much to say and not enough time. He/she is an active member of the House of HOMO-CIDAL who perform regularly throughout Edmonton, including spectacular movie gigs at Metro Cinema.

Busch is a proud Edmontonian creator. By day, Busch is an EPL librarian; by night, he transforms into the glamorous Lourdes. How does he juggle the many hats of a creator? Busch explains in a recent CBC Arts web series, Canada’s A Drag, how “Lourdes and Jonathan are essentially the same person … I think that’s one brilliant element about drag is that it has, against my will, crafted for me a fictional character out of my own skin and ideas about living. That and I get to become a sexy bombshell like the ones I idolized from my childhood.”
