“We can create something way bigger than this.”

Hear the encouraging story from Luis and Hans Gramajo-Schrei as they share about their journey and how it’s shaped their lives. “TL;DR: We did not leave everything behind to be told to ‘tone it down’ or ‘be less gay’ or ‘be less loud’.”

About the speaker

Luis and Hans are a married couple that left their home country, Guatemala, three years ago, escaping life in a hyper-conservative, developing country where, as a couple, they were not allowed to exist. They consider themselves some of the few, privileged ones: educated and, though not wealthy, comfortable enough that leaving was an option. They landed in Austin and their little farmer’s market cookie business flourished. The wunderkeks brand started showing its true colors, literally and figuratively; with dinosaurs in tutus, disco balls, and–more importantly–pictures that clearly and freely present themselves as a family.

ABOUT THE MUSIC
Every month, Austin features a local artist who helps make Austin the Live Music Capital of the World. This event featured a live performance by Caleb De Casper. You can support the band by listening on Spotify. You can also follow them via instagram, or by visiting their website.
