About the speaker

Majlinda Kelmendi (b. 1966 in Tirana, Albania) contemporary artist, known for her multimedia works. Her work is mainly influenced by topics that address the processes of social, political, and economic transformation, history, and socio-political topics in the region and beyond.
Her work covers a wide range of media, including installation, video, drawing, painting, photography, and performance. She works since 2000 - present, at the University of Pristina as a Professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Conceptual Art and New Media.
He completed his university studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tirana, Albania 1986-1990. Postgraduate studies: Master of Art - Academy of Fine Arts in Pristina 1999-2000.
