7 Lesson from a Graphic Designer
I have reflected on my 15 years as a professional graphic designer and compiled a list of lessons that I have learned. I am excited to share these with you at the first Creative Mornings event in Cleveland.
About the speaker
Nikki Villagomez is a nationally recognized speaker on typography. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University (geaux tigers!) with a BFA in Graphic Design. After working as a designer in New York City, she moved to her home state of South Carolina where she became a fulltime freelancer. Nikki is the founder and former president of the South Carolina chapter of AIGA. She has been an educator teaching Graphic Design and Typography at the University of South Carolina and the University of Akron. Currently, Nikki is the Graphic Design + Creative Studio Manager at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP. In her free time, she maintains her daily blog (nikkivillagomez.wordpress.com) about how culture affects typography.

Find out who you are and never let go.
You have to trust yourself before anyone else can trust you.
My whole goal is just to speak from the heart.
Speaking- which is the most humbling thing; standing in front of a room full of your peers, if I don't trust what I'm saying then it's going to sound like a bunch of crap to you.
Don't be afraid of the unknown, embrace the white wall and replace your fear with curiosity.
