Omar Mouallem a National Magazine Awards nominated writer whose stories have appeared in The Walrus, Swerve, VICE, enRoute and Eighteen Bridges. His column “Footnotes” appears in Metro News every weekend. He worked for Avenue magazine for five years before going freelance 17 months ago (he counts every month of freedom) and is taking full advantage of it by taking off to Europe for the summer.
