About the speaker
Sara Schairer is the founder and executive director of Compassion It, a nonprofit organization and global social movement whose mission is to inspire daily compassionate actions and attitudes. She created the one-of-a-kind reversible Compassion It wristband which has proven to be a scalable and accessible approach to cultivating compassion. Over 130,000 wristbands are improving lives on six continents, 50+ countries, and all 50 states, and wristband sales fund compassion education programs for schools, organizations, hospitals, and prisons.
A Stanford-certified instructor of Compassion Cultivation Training, Sara has taught at the UCSD Center for Mindfulness, Kaiser Permanente, the Naval Medical Center. She leads compassion trainings for various audiences around the world and encourages her students and audiences to 'compassion it' in their daily lives. She’s a contributing author to the book The Neuroscience of Learning and Development: Enhancing Creativity, Compassion, Critical Thinking and Peace in Higher Education and is a guest blogger for the Chopra Center.
