About the speaker

Born and raised in the UK, Sarah Fung studied jewellery design at Central St. Martins and immediately started a jewellery label and lingerie brand upon graduation, demonstrating her entrepreneurial streak at a young age. After exhibiting at London Fashion Week, she was able to sell in prestigious stores such as Browns Focus, Selfridges in London, Henri Bendel in New York and the now-defunct Colette in Paris. Sarah then moved to Hong Kong where she worked at Luxury retailer Lane Crawford for nine years. Towards the end of her time there, she noticed the amount of waste produced by the fashion industry, and after doing some research and realising there wasn’t a consignment business in Hong Kong that felt luxurious and inspiring, Sarah decided to start HULA. Having worked in fashion for almost 30 years, first as a designer, then in luxury retail. Sarah experienced both sides of the industry, understands the efforts that go into one piece; From design, production to marketing, HULA's mission is to extend the life of well-designed fashion items.
