The Community is Yours to Create
Bandit Coffee’s Sarah Weaver talks about making connections, setting roots, and creating influence in your local community.
About the speaker
St. Pete native Sarah Weaver is the co-founder of Bandit Coffee Co. Over the last 5 years, she’s worked to bring people together to share experiences at the intersection of flavor and design.
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Sarah returned to the Tampa Bay area after graduating from Flagler College with a B.A in Fine Arts. As a designer at a local advertising agency, she found herself longing for the meaningful connections, lively energy, and people-focused culture surrounding the service industry. When big city travels sparked an increased interest in specialty coffee she sought to bring this pairing of great coffee and great experiences back to her hometown.
In 2015, Sarah created Bandit Coffee Co. alongside her partner in both life and business, Joshua Weaver. Since its opening in February 2016, the Grand Central District café has welcomed neighbors from across the street to visitors from across the world.
Bandit’s café offerings have expanded to include brunch via a scratch kitchen and a curated selection of natural wines from independent wineries. As a coffee roaster, they’ve built partnerships near and far; Bandit Coffee is currently available across Florida, up in Toronto, and out in Los Angeles.
Sarah’s upcoming venture, Stonefruit Social Club, will be an event series and online platform celebrating the people of food and beverage.
