About the speaker
Shehzil Malik is a designer and illustrator with a focus on societal issues like women’s rights, feminism and identity constructs. She leads an independent studio collaborating on work ranging from fashion design, publication design, illustration and branding.
Her work has been featured in CNN, DW and Forbes and clients include Sony Music, Penguin, Google Allo, Sterling Publishing as well as local brands like Generation, Patari and Leisure Club and the nonprofit Behbud.
She is a Fulbright scholar with an MFA in Visual Communication Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is also part of the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN). She has previously taught at Beaconhouse National University, and worked as art director at Ogilvy & Mather, been part of the Arcade Creative Group at Sony Music in New York City as well served as the art director of a socially conscious startup, Uth Oye! in Lahore.
