About the speaker
Piper Groves, Executive Director of the Shenandoah Valley Arts Center.
Piper has a BA from Mary Baldwin in Arts Administration and Studio Art. She is a passionate and vocal advocate of the arts as a personal and community strengthening mechanism. Her work growing community visual arts programming has been recognized by the Circle of Excellence Award at James Madison University and the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School Visual Art Program’s Community Impact Award. She has served on boards to advocate for creative communities including Artisan’s Center of Virginia, Waynesboro Cultural Commission, and Kiwanis Club of Waynesboro. She has also served in a planning capacity with the Virginia Fall Foliage Art Show and the Virginia Street Arts Festival.
Piper is also co-owner of Eccohollow Art and Sound, a music based creative business in Staunton. She is a working artist, specializing in hand pulled monoprints and acrylic sculpture. She lives in Staunton with her husband, son, and three cats.
