So what happens when diversity becomes something of a taboo in Bandung, Indonesia?
The fight for equality is one of the most unrelenting struggle that’s ever been. What about the colours and variety of diversity that makes the earth more exciting and livelier? The conclusion is still nowhere to be seen, and there’s no guarantee that it will ever end. Despite this, some people just won’t give up—even when it’s considered taboo. Mass communications final-year student Risky Nath is one of them.
About the speaker
At the time of writing, Risky Nath is not your typical journalism student at UNIKOM, one of the creative industries sub-sector. On the broader aspect, our struggle to fight for equality and eliminate discrimination on race, identity, faith and gender only can be seen once you truly lived in that. Nath is an active participant in several communities, such as JAKATARUB, Arus Pelangi, and Transman Indonesia, just to name a few, and sharing his unique experinces with a lot of different people in Indonesia. His motto is "we were born different" and followed by our next big question "so what happened when that diversity become taboo? " will be the highlight of #CMTaboo morning discussion.
