About the speaker

Sudha Kottillil is an ecologist and researcher currently working on marine conservation (4 years), sustainable fisheries and management in India with a focus on a group that covers sharks, rays and skates. She works with FERAL and is part of InSeason Fish Team. Apart from understanding the species diversity in fisheries, she is working with schools to improve public engagement for marine ecosystems through an ocean curriculum.

As part of the team of an international youth network she focuses on international and national Biodiversity policies at the UN spaces.

Shruthi Kottillil is an ecologist working on biodiversity conservation. After working on few terrestrial projects she focused on marine conservation (specifically elasmobranch) and fisheries management over the past 4 years. She currently works to understand the value/supply chain, demand of elasmobranch products along with species diversity and awareness creation at FERAL and InSeason Fish.

She is also a part of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN) helping with a few projects and part of the partnerships and fundraising team.
