It’s all about the rise above obstacles in the creative process, or frankly life in general, and the goal to aim higher, think larger, dream bigger in one’s artistic vision.

Wendy will talk about the process and effort of having the project rise from idea to actuality. The 45-minute family puppet movie was filmed and edited in collaboration with Calgary Creative Morning’s member Gil Ngai. It’s the story of two surprising friends – a bird named Bird who has lost her song, and Bakster, a philosophical mouse who dreams of flying! Or rising … as in the theme for January’s meeting. She’ll show Bakster’s intriguing contraptions that rose or didn’t rise according to the plotline. She’ll screen a few clips that showcase the endearing characters, original music and imaginative videography. She’ll demo the interactive website that strives to present purposeful online activities for children.
