May 1, 8:30am - 10:00am CDT. Hosted at Zoom
part of a series on Purpose
About the speaker
Will Acuff is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Corner to Corner, a nonprofit that serves Nashville through the development of unique and creative relationship-driven programming.
One of their programs, Script to Screen, helps kids from low income communities fall in love with reading through their love of movies. Kids start by watching Black Panther and reading the script at the same time, connecting the dots between literacy and film. The kids then write their own script and learn the technology behind film making, ultimately having their very own Red Carpet Premiere to show off their work to friends and family.
Another program, The Academy, helps underestimated entrepreneurs plan, start, and grow their own small business. To date they have helped launch over 200 neighborhood businesses, bringing an estimated $5 Million back into the local economy every year.
Will recently founded Stay for Good - a donations platform that invites Airbnb owners to fund creative nonprofit work in their local community.
Through all of Will’s endeavors, you will find the theme of sacrificial love towards neighbors. He is passionate about how learning to love our neighbor in the same way that we love ourselves leads to a community where everyone has a chance to thrive. He has an incredible partner in his wife and Corner to Corner co-founder Tiffany Acuff. Together they have two amazing children, Raylan and Penelope.
He also loves street photography and can regularly be seen around Nashville walking with his Fuji X100F (check him out at @outeastphotos on Instagram).
