CreativeMornings with Amanda Wright
February 27 February, 8.00-9.30am
Q Lounge
Phwoar, what a summer! We’ve been making the most of the summer climate by spending our weekends at the beach, doing after-work swims, shooting back ice-cold drinks and dining under the setting sun. It’s not all good times though. The changing global climate is a major concern for the future of the planet. Temperatures are on the up and up, antarctic ice shelves are receding, and sea levels are on the rise, leading to an increase of extreme heatwaves, drought, flooding and destructive storms.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. The creative community is home to a bunch of inspiring change-makers using their skills to better address environmental sustainability… and this month we’re tapping into that well.
Amanda Wright is an established event designer, producer and sustainability advisor. The visionary mind behind the music and arts festival Splore, Amanda has been creating and contributing to major events for more than 17 years with a focus on sustainability integrated into event business practices and delivery. The current director of Green Shoot Pacific, Amanda works across production and management-based industries to develop, maintain, and communicate positive social and environmental outcomes. Her focus for the future is to assist corporations, large-scale event organizers and host cities to create collaborative platforms that integrate environmental, economic and social priorities and plans for enduring results.
Come along on Friday 27th February to hear Amanda talk about her inspiring journey and her unwavering passion to ensure that creative experience is combined with positive environmental impact.
