On the 22nd of January Antwerp designer Tom Hautekiet will kick off the CreativeMornings/Antwerp chapter with a talk on January’s global theme Language. We asked him to answer 8 - otherwise completely random questions.

Tom: “A long bike ride with friends.”

Tom: “Sincere.”

Tom: “I have a lot of design heroes. But if you allow me to pick two, I choose Saul Bass and Paul Rand. Their ‘simple’ way of communicating with images really speaks to me.”

Tom: “I like X most of all.”

5/ Which statement makes you shriek?

Tom: “I’m not feeling it.”

6/ How would you save the world?

Tom: “I have asked myself that question too. Maybe if people in rich western countries could be happy with what they have and stop thinking about what they want, we would be a lot better off.”
