Our September #CMugshot is Angela Alwin. You may have seen her smiling face around, as she’s faithfully attended 13 #CMATX talks. During the day, she makes it happen at Specht Harpman, handling operations, marketing and business development for the architecture firm. When she needs a break from all that doing, she heads over to UT to chill out under James Turrell’s Skyspace. A woman of intrepid tastes, she loves her breakfast tacos decked out with eggs, bacon, avocado, potatoes, queso fresco and the hottest salsa she can get her hands on.

What’s the one thing you’ve been inspired by lately?

I recently saw Lisa Fischer and her band perform at One World Theatre. It’s a quirky, tiny venue and Lisa gave a transcendent performance. I was inspired by her haunting voice and her generosity in giving each member of her band so much time in the spotlight. Truly a rare and inspired performance that, every day, reminds me of the value of patience, perseverance, and gratitude. Hands down, the best show I’ve seen in Austin - if you missed it, check out “20 Feet from Stardom.” If that doesn’t inspire you, check your pulse.

Speaking from your own life experience, what product or service could benefit from the kind of empathy-driven design Jon Kolko spoke about?

Tinder. Just kidding - I actually meant financial planning services. Really. Don’t look at me that way.
