If you like to hang at Thunderbird Coffee, you just may have sat next to our November #CMugshot, Patrick Benfield, as he breezed through a few chapters on a free afternoon.  Winning the most awesome job title award ( ! ), Patrick is the director of maker education for St. Gabriel’s Catholic School.  After blissing out on the bacon and avocado in his favorite breakfast taco, he heads to their new makerspace, the d.lab, to assist the future makers of Austin.

What’s one thing you’ve been inspired by lately?

Lately, I’ve been inspired by the enthusiasm of the young makers of my school; they’re so much fun to work with.

What one activity do you do in your free time that is essential for your peace of mind at work?

I play the Hammond B3 organ during my “off” time.  For me, music is an essential part of finding balance.
