February’s Theme is “Rebel”

We are entering February 2014 with the theme of “Rebel”. This motto was chosen by our Portland chapter and we were thrilled to have Portland-based Adam Garcia create this month’s theme illustration.

The upcoming Berlin event will be covered by Martin Reiche, an audiovisual artist living and working in Berlin, Germany.  In this talk, he wants to dive into his approach of combining worlds that for long time did not seem to belong together, reflecting on art that stems from scientific research, scientific research evolving out of the arts and the anthropological questions that almost naturally evolve around this genuinely new field which is neither art, sciences or humanities, but something new, hybrid, and nevertheless important.
