ComsiCosma is a smart loser, or at least pretends to be, that dedicated his last 10 years of existence to creativity in various forms. He constantly believes you just have to do things different then the others, even if itās just cooking with ingredients that nobody dared to combine before or pool & garden cleaning at private villa parties in Ibiza while being in a psychedelic state of mind. Behaving in such a manner is constantly a huge risk because many times you can go into the wrong direction and usually itās to late when you discover the āfaux pasā, but thereās always a new chance to say:
I did it my way!
So hereās heās experimentaliving lifestyle in brief.
In 1997, after 7 years of German Highschool in Mannheim, with fresh memories of Goethe, Patrick Süskind or Bertold Brecht he returned to Bucharest where he studies for 2 years at the Fine Arts Academy (Photo-Video Department) enjoying lunch at Moxa and going to classes with his greyhound Gorki.
After many failures in love life and a growing depression, in 2001 the world famous institution FABRICA, (Bennetonās Center for Research and Communication founded by 80ās and 90ās capo di tutti capi in advertising, Mr. Oliviero Toscani) decides to officially recognize his fantastic creativity and offers him a 1 year scholarship in the recently finished ābetonbijoubuildingā of Japanese architectural living legend Tadao Ando. After this exciting and as well enriching experience, ComsiCosma declines any corporate career and goes instead on an European tour that brings him into the most bizarre situations like hitch-hiking from Bucharest to Paris and back, working as a barman in London though having no experience at all or partying on Puff Diddyās yacht in Ibiza.
Fed up with all that jet set Bling-Bling lifestyle, he celebrates a huge comeback exhibiting in October 2004 an interactive installation at the opening of the Museum for Contemporary Art in Bucharest and then dedicates the upcoming month to the most challenging project in his life so far. The remix culture magazine āOmagiuā was for ComsiCosma a lifetime dream come through. A platform for contemporary creation and unique advertising that many young people could identify with.
In 2006, he quits the project and started a new career as TV presenter. His weekly Wednesday midnight appearance on TVR2 presenting the advertising culture show āRegistered Trademarkā went on from September 2006 till recently when the production manager suddenly fired him because of insufficient sex-appeal that lead to a very very low rating. Today he recalls it one of the most shitty experiences in his life.
In 2008 heās the author of the photo album 100% Bucharest and the collaborator on different cultural projects of the French Embassy in Romania, celebrating a huge success with the debut of the āPasarelaā Fashion Festival.
Since 2009 he enjoyed the freedom of a freelance art director, developing a highly creative collaboration with Madison Perfumery for whom he organized several events and also designed window cases. Slightly, his growing interest for interior design and gastronomy, lead to the opening of āNUNUā - a combination of wine bar & object gallery for sophisticated snobs. In this lovely universe he sells 20th century design furniture and objects, as well as contemporary art. In the same time, he spends many hours in the kitchen organizing conceptual dinners for friends & strangers.
Recently he realized his entire existence of 35 years was clearly divided into rather independent chapters of 7 years, so this fact gave him the last impulse to leave Bucharest and start yet a new one in Rio de Janeiro where he hopes to find true love and happiness.
After spending 3 month in Rio de Janeiro where he worked as a creative consultant for the advertising agency āBiruta - Medias Mirabolantesā, ComsiCosma turns his back to the beauties on the Ipanema beach and decides to go back to Europe for a more decadent, sophisticated and nevertheless more artistic environment. During an afternoon walk through a beautiful favela he starts dreaming of Paris, the city where he decides to return after 10 years. At the same very moment he has flashbacks of that days in 2001 when he used to work as an assistant at the famous āPin-Up Studioā.
2012 is almost gone and for sure Apocalypse is close, he thinksā¦
Paris was soon burning, burning him down.
Back in Bucharest in early 2013, restlessly seeking to promote quality vintage design from the second half of the XXth century, he opens up a new gallery called Eclectico Studio. One year later, for the first edition of the Romanian Design Week, ComsiCosma curates āHotel Discretā, an exhibition dedicated to graphic design, volumetric letters & other forms of design in public spaces (1950-1990)
