Happy New Year everyone!
Our December event at Soho House Hong Kong was a fantastic success! Jessica Naomi Fong, Founder & CEO at Common Farms, delivered an inspiring talk on the theme of CYCLE and its impact on sustainable urban farming.
Jessica shared her remarkable journey from the fast-moving F&B industry in Hong Kong to founding the city’s first soil-based indoor vertical farm. She highlighted critical issues in the food industry, including food waste from spoiled imports, pollution from food transportation, and the challenges of tracing food sources and monitoring pesticide use. Her solution - Common Farms - represents an innovative approach to these problems, featuring a bespoke in-house developed closed loop irrigation system for water conservation and collaboration with CLP to optimize energy usage. The farm now supplies top chefs in Hong Kong and Macau with fresh, traceable produce.
Thank you to Jessica Naomi Fong, Soho House Hong Kong, and the CreativeMornings Hong Kong team for an incredible event. You can view photos from the event here: https://workshopten.client-gallery.com/gallery/creative-mornings-circle
