Q&A with Oren

How would you describe yourself in one word?
“Personality disorder.”

How do you change the world every day?
“I reach out to the public through writing poems. My poems are a form of protest; against myself, against embarrassment, against lack of fulfillments. I spray-paint them throughout the city so that the public is exposed to these testimonies. Some identify themselves with the texts, some don’t, but through the written word they are all experiencing some kind of emotion during their day. I believe that writing is a method of programming our brains. Words shape the reality in which we live, and in our era where we live our lives via Facebook, forgetting what is really important, I try to encourage people to open up through words and to be honest with their emotions.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
“I have no clue. Things could either end up incredibly good, or incredibly bad. It’s all an adventure.“

What’s your message to the world right now?
“I’m dying from embarrassment and excitement right now that you’re writing about me.”

אני מתערב במרחב הציבורי באמצעות כתיבת שירי מחאה נגד עצמי: נגד הבושה, המבוכה וחוסר ההגשמה ומרסס אותם ברחבי העיר. הציבור נחשף לטקסטים הללו, חלק מהאנשים מזדהים וחלקם פחות, אבל הם חווים את הרגשות שלהם במהלך היום. אני מאמין שטקסט היא שפת התכנות של המוח, שהמילים מעצבות את המציאות בה אנו חיים ובעידן בו כולנו חיים בפייסבוק ועורכים את חיינו כאילו הם מלאי הגשמה, אני מעודד אנשים להיפתח לרגשות כנים מול עצמם.איפה נמצא אותך בעוד 5 שנים?
אין לי מושג, זה יכול להיות מאוד טוב אבל יכול להיות גם מאוד רע.מסר לעולם
